The sling clinic is free, but you are very welcome to make a donation to the sling library via Mel’s ‘Buy Me a Coffee’ link. The sessions run monthly during term-time only. (No event in August)
Timings: 10am-11am: Reusable nappy demo with Q&A
From (approx.) 11am -12: the sling clinic will start just after the cloth nappy demo around 11am. Please arrive by 11.30am, if nobody has arrived by then, Mel will leave.
We are back at the Round Chapel for our wonderful Meet, Give & Take event! The chance to meet and hang out with other local parents and babies using reusable nappies, as well as helping to reduce waste and save money by reusing nappies and clothing rather than buying new – everybody wins! Our meet up coincides with the Round Chapel Old School Rooms Wednesday Playgroup which is a lovely group for under 5s so why not check it out.
Like a lovely jumble sale of preloved reusable nappies, baby clothes and textiles and maternity clothes, but everything is completely FREE! Feel free to bring any unwanted CLEAN nappies or baby clothes in GOOD condition, to pass onto other local parents. **PLEASE BRING SEASONAL CLOTHING ONLY! (i.e. no Christmas outfits in summer please!)**
There is absolutely NO need to bring something in order to take. Invite your pregnant friends to come and find free maternity wear and baby clothes, even if they’re not interested in reusable nappies! All very welcome.
If you have nappies or clothing to donate, please try to bring them nearer the beginning of the event so that they have a better chance of finding a new home on the day. We are always available to receive nappy donations in advance too.
We will also be joined by some of the Hackney Council recycling team who can issue you with your FREE £70 reusable nappy voucher via Real Nappies for London (ID and proof of address & birth/matB1 required).
Mel from Wrap a Hug Sling Library will be on hand for sling fit checks and advice only. Contact Mel in advance directly if there is a specific sling you’d like to hire on the day.
We have also set up a facebook group to facilitate the buying/selling/sharing of preloved nappies locally HERE.
If you would like to donate nappies for this event but cannot make it on the day please contact us: info@hackneyrealnappy.net
Volunteers are always needed at these events as they can get busy! If you can come along and give us a hand, we are always so happy to hear from you. No commitment or experience necessary, just get in touch!
